2019 Elections: All Is Set For Saturday’s Poll - INEC

Less than two days to the rescheduled 2019 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) has disclosed that all is set for the deployment of voting materials to the 774 Local Government Areas of the country.

The Akwa Ibom State Government has dismissed as unfounded and mischievous statements credited to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole and former Senate Minority leader and chieftain of APC, Godswill Akpabio,of an unholy alliance between the state government and the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, to the extent of influencing the placements of ad hoc staff among other malicious allegations.

The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, will on Wednesday (today) brief heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited to monitor elections in Nigeria on INEC preparations for the elections.

Ugandan authorities yesterday announced that thirteen people have been quarantined following their contact with a body suspected to have been infected with Ebola Virus.
