President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Deputy Comptroller-General (DCG) Karebo Samson as the acting Comptroller General (CG) of the Federal Fire Service (FFS). Karebo is expected to replace the outgoing FFS CG, Dr. Liman Ibrahim, who is due for retirement. This was announced on Thursday in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, FFS, Ugo Huan.

The statement reads in part, "The new Acting CG, Karebo, has promised to ensure that men of the operational department are motivated to be at their best in the discharge of their duty."

Karebo appreciated President Buhari for giving him the opportunity to serve the country.

The outgoing CG, Dr. Liman Ibrahim said the successes recorded by the Service were made possible as a result of the President's vision of protecting lives and properties.

He also said the action of the present administration was instrumental in upgrading the Fire Service from a poor state to a world-class standard.
