President Bola Tinubu has announced a N25, 000 wage award to low grade workers in the civil service, as part of measures to cushion the impact of the fuel subsidy removal policy. Tinubu made the pledge on Sunday, October 1, as part of his Independence Day Broadcast to the nation, where he noted that the salary increase will last for a period of six months.

Taxi Services Suspends At Abuja Airport- FAAN

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has suspended car hire service at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja over unsettled factional disagreement among the car hire operators. FAAN Spokesman, Abdullahi Yakubu-Funtua, on Thursday, while regretting any inconvenience stated that normal services will resume once their divergences are resolved.

NSIPA: President Tinubu Appoints Yakubu As Pioneer Coordinator/CEO

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mrs Delu Yakubu as the pioneer National Coordinator/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA), pending confirmation by the Senate. This was made known on Thursday in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, adding that it is in line with NSIPA Establishment Act, 2023.

VP Shettima Jets-Off To Cuba For G77 Summit

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Wednesday departed Nigeria to represent President Bola Tinubu at the G77+China Leaders’ Summit in Havana, Cuba, held from Sept. 15 to 17. FAAC: FG Shares N907.054bn Revenue To States, LG Councils For June

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total sum of N907.054 billion June 2023 Federation Account Revenue to the Federal Government, States and Local Government Councils. This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting for July 2023. The meeting was chaired by the Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein.

The Presidential Committee on Tax Policy and Fiscal Reforms has revealed that the Nigeria Customs Service and 62 other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Federal Government will stop direct collection of revenue, This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Committee, Taiwo Oyedele, while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily breakfast programme on Wednesday. According to Oyedele who is former Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader at Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC), the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) will now collect revenue for the MDAs.

Subsidy Removal: Nigeria’s Fuel Consumption Drops By 28%

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), has disclosed that the average daily consumption of fuel in Nigeria has fallen by no fewer than 28 percent since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the scrapping of fuel subsidies. According to new figures released by NMDPRA, the average daily petrol consumption fell to 48.43 million liters (13 million gallons) in June, as against the previous average of 66.9 million.
