Determined to revive the nation's economy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has revealed that the National Economic Council will welcome collaboration with the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in key aspects of improving the economy including the Ease of Doing Business, the privatization of public enterprises, amongst others.
He made the announcement following a visit by a delegation from the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) led by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Oscar Onyeama at the Presidential Villa.
The Vice President said the proposed NSE collaboration with Government's important programmes would enhance service delivery and improve transparency in public governance.
He noted that NSE’s participation and collaboration in the Quarterly Business Forum and the competitiveness council will also be very useful.
Prof. Osinbajo said the Federal Government is making adequate efforts to further improve the ease of doing the business environment and also key into any initiative that promotes innovation and creativity.
Speaking at the meeting, Onyeama briefed the Vice President on the proposed collaboration with the Federal Government in the operationalization of the Exchange’s innovation hub and other initiatives of the Federal Government, to which the NSE is willing to support.
