Osinbajo Presides Over NEC Meeting In Aso Rock

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo is currently presiding over the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

 

A source at the Presidency disclosed that the meeting started when the Vice President arrived the Council Chamber around 11am.

 

It was gathered that a Muslim Prayer was offered by the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal to kick start the meeting. Most of the 36 state governors were in attendance when the meeting started.

 

Governors in attendance include the chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), Ekiti Governor, Kayode Fayemi, Aminu Bello Masari (Katsina), Bello Matawalle (Zamfara) and Bala Mohammed (Bauchi).

 

Others include Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (Kano), Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Sokoto), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Mohammed Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa, among others.

 

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and other top government officials are also in attendance.
