President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman to step aside as MD pending an unfettered investigation into NPA. This was disclosed in a statement by presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu on Thursday, saying the suspension followed a recommendation by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi who recommended an administrative panel of inquiry to be set up to investigate the management of the NPA.
The panel will be headed by the Director, Maritime Services of the Ministry while the Deputy Director, Legal will serve as the Secretary.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Bello-Koko the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, NPA will take over the affairs of the NPA.
