President Buhari Reappoints Pitan As MD/CEO OF BoI

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reappointment of Mr. Olukayode Pitan as the Managing Director (MD)/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bank of Industry (BoI) for another term of five years. Mallam Aliyu Dikko was also reappointed as the chairman of BoI. This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha who stated that the new appointments would take effect from May 27, 2022.


The statement reads in part, “Under Pitan’s leadership, BoI has consistently delivered on its mandate to transform Nigeria’s industrial sector by providing long-term financing and counter-cynical loans diversified across industries such as agro-processing, gender businesses, and renewable energy among others.

“In the last five years, BoI has promoted financial inclusion by supporting the expansion of over three million enterprises, thereby creating over seven million jobs.”

According to the statement, Pitan raised about $3.8Bn for BoI in the last four years.
