American Industrial giant General Electric (GE) is set to launch a gas turbine assembly plant in Nigeria come 2018. This follows an investment of over $100 million into the plant in order to meet growing demands for gas-fired power plants in Nigeria and neighboring countries.
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) will be hosting a conference to be attended by Directors-General of Customs from all the African Union (AU) member countries. This is in furtherance of efforts to enhance trade, security and common position in the continent. The meeting will be taking place from 23rd to 25th May 2017.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said it had spent over N1.6 billion on the repairs of vandalized oil pipelines between Kaduna and Kano in 2016. The NNPC Group Managing Director (GMD), Mr Maikanti Baru, disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje in Kano.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Tuesday said the Consumer Price Index, which measures inflation, dropped from 17.26 per cent in March to 17.24 per cent in the month of April. The NBS stated in the report that the 0.02 percentage point decline in inflation rate made it the third consecutive month of decline in the CPI.
