Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state was on an inspection of the ongoing second Niger Bridge, he expressed satisfaction with the standard and the pace of the work. The governor, who was exited with the extent of the work done so far, said he was convinced that the Federal Government under President Buhari would complete the work as promised and visibly Nigerians are witness to that.

He revealed that when the bridge is completed it would go a long way in boosting the economic activities of southeast and south-south as well as the whole country at large.


The governor in his statement “I have no choice than to praise President Muhammadu Buhari for his determination in the implementation of other federal government projects in the state and other states in the region,”


Mr, Fredrick Wieser, the project Director of Julius Berger Construction Company revealed the project is in three phases. Noting that the company has already received 15% of the money as mobilisation which amounts to N30 billion.


Wieser added the bridge will be a 1.6km stretch while the access road from Asaba axis will be 3.3km and 7km from Anambra respectively. “Right now, we are doing foundation work in the river which will be 50 metres deep.
He, however, disclosed that with the determination of the Buhari administration, the project would be delivered on or before Feb. 28, 2022.
