President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Adamu Tutuwa as the substantive Director General (DG) of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO), Lagos State with effect from May 10, 2022, for a five-year non-renewable tenure. Her appointment was announced on Friday in a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation.

Prior to her appointment as DG of the Institute, Tutuwa was the Director of the Biotechnology Centre of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA) in Jalingo, Taraba State.

According to the statement, “With her core competence in biotechnology and her affiliation to scientific donor agencies, hopes are high that her new constituency will benefit therein”.

FIIRO was established to aid in developing the industrialization of the country’s economy by utilizing Nigeria’s raw materials and improving indigenous production technologies.
