NSPMC: President Buhari Appoints MD

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ahmed Halilu as the Managing Director (MD) of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC). Halilu has been the acting MD since the former MD, Abbas Masanawa resigned on May 16 in order to pursue his gubernatorial ambition. According to reports, President Buhari approved his appointment following the recommendation of Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), who also serves as the board chairman of NSPMC.


Halilu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy, and Masters in Business Administration, all obtained from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He also has over 23 years of working experience in the banking sector, having worked with the African International Bank (AIB) and Zenith Bank Plc.

He also participated in the Senior Executive Course 39, 2017 of the National Institute for Policy & Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, leading to his award as a Member of the National Institute, mni.
