Gradual normalcy has been restored in the supply and prices of petroleum products hours after the Department of State Services, DSS, issued the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Ltd and oil marketers a 48 hours ultimatum. Since the address by the agency, the situation seems to have improved in many parts of Nigeria, due to the partial compliance of oil marketers.
Civil society organisation, CSO, under the aegis of ‘The Natives,’ and the Association of Distributors and Transporters of Petroleum Products, ADITOP has commended DSS for its recent intervention to end artificial fuel scarcity by marketers across the country and has also pledged to cooperate with the DSS, to resolve fuel issues in the country.
Recent checks by Vigil360 indicated that queues have reduced drastically in many major marketers' outlets and products are sold at the normal price of N169 and some N180 per litre.
