MOBO Awards: Wizkid, Davido Make History

Nigerian artistes Wizkid and Davido have continued to make Africans proud as both have won big last night, at MOBO Awards 2017, which held at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, beating the likes of Jay-Z, Cardi B, Travis Scott etc.

Controversial Nollywood actress, Moyo Lawal has called on fans and haters to take chill pills over her activities on the social media especially her outfits and postures. The actress who took to her Instagram page on Wednesday to react to comments that she usually post semi-nude pictures said her activities on the gram was even more pardonable compared to some new wives, mothers and even children who post nude, almost nude bikinis and other photoshoots that are more provocative.

Nigerian Music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known by his stage name, Tubaba has condemned the alleged auctioning of Nigerians and other Africans as slaves in Libya. The music legend who took to his Instagram page to voice his displeasure over the inhuman act, called on all African leaders to take urgent steps toward addressing the issue.

Miss Adeoye Adeola, 18-year old has emerged winner of the 2017 edition of miss polo Nigeria Beauty Pageant, which drew participants from all parts of the country, held at the Port Harcourt Polo Club, Port Harcourt.

The Lagos-born Miss Adeola beat Titilope Okonlawon, the first runner-up and Miss Stella Okuelege, second runner-up to emerge winner.

Former Ivorian International Didier Drogba is playing a key role in the ongoing African Union (A.U.) and European Union (E.U.) summit currently underway in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Award-winning reggae-dancehall star, Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, aka Patoranking, has come hard on African leader for their lack of strong criticism and action against emerging reports of dehumanising treatment of migrants and refugees by Libyan smugglers.

“African Leaders can’t you see what’s going on in Libya...Why is Libya not making the world headlines on CNN,BBC and the rest? Oh God,” Patoranking tweeted on Tuesday.

An exclusive investigative report by CNN two weeks ago, had revealed how Libyan smugglers – unable to ferry desperate migrants off to Europe due to crackdown by Libyan coastguard – resort to auctioning off the migrants as slave workers to bidders.
