Popular Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has declared his intention to represent Ahiazu/ Ezinihitte Mbaise Federal Constituency, Imo State in the House of Representatives by contesting the 2019 general elections. The actor who became more famous for his role in a series titled 'Professor Johnbull' where he speaks 'big grammar' to the admiration of many Nigerians, declared his intention in a post on his Instagram page.
The post which was made on Wednesday reads
"Hello Friends, good evening. History has been made today as I declared my intention to run for the House of Representatives, Ahiazu/ Ezinihitte Mbaise Federal Constituency, Imo State under the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA. I owe you this information as I enlist your prayers and support. #OverAndOut"
Following his declaration, Kanayo now adds to the growing number of Nollywood stars trying their hands in politics. Those who had contested various positions or held and are holding political appointments include Richard Mofe-Damijo, Mercy Johnson, Yul Edochie, Desmond Elliot and Kate Henshaw among others.
