Tiwa Savage Beats Davido Others, To Bag MTV Best African Act

Marvin Queen Tiwa Savage has yet again attained a new breakthrough in her musical career as she emerged the first female singer to bag the 'Best African Act' category at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Award amidst stiff competition with the likes of Davido,DistructionBoyz (South Africa), FallyIpupa (DRC), Shekinah (South Africa) and several other African acts.


Tiwa, who has in recent times remain in the spotlight over her controversial video "fever" by Wizkid was all smiles when she received the award held on Sunday November 4th at the BizkaiaArena, Bilbao in Spain, which she later dedicated to her adored son Jamil and fans.

 

 

The songsters while expressing delight on her Instagram page wrote: "Almighty God, you ARE so faithful, My savage soldiers you did this for us. You.ve stuck with me through the roller coasters, THANK YOU To my amazing team, this is just the beginning. African Woman, this is for US I've been through a lot but I've kept my head up and weathered the stormbecause I know some little girl somewhere is dreaming like I did."

Camila Cabello and NickiMinaj were overall the biggest winners at the MTV EMAS.

While Camila, 21, who emerged the night’s biggest winnercame in with six nominations after picking up four honours comprising awards for ‘Best Artist’, ‘Best Video’, ‘Best US Act’ and ‘Best Song’Minaj received three awards for ‘Best New Artist’, ‘Best Look’ and ‘Best Hip Hop.’
