Nigerian pop star, Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, revealed that his fans are the reason he overcame the pains from the death of his son, Punch reports. He made this assertion while performing at the end-of-year party of a real estate company in Lagos.

The 'Oliver Twist' singer, who lost his one year old son in June went off the music scene due to the tragedy and a lot of people thought it was the end of his career. However, he bounced back and has since been delivering electrifying performances, particularly this yuletide season.


During his amazing performance, he appreciated his fans for the love and support shown to him and his family following the death of his son. He also said the tragic incident has made him a man.


D'banj further revealed that despite some people thought the unfortunate event would end his career, he has a stock full of thrilling projects in 2019, and urged fans to anticipate the best.


He said “You should never be discouraged from following your dreams. When I started my career, so many people said I wouldn’t make it. They thought I wouldn’t go far and they ridiculed me because I was playing the harmonica but look who is standing here now.”
