Pakistani Activist and Nobel Laureate, Malala Yousafzai has signed a multi-year deal with Apple TV+ to produce dramas and documentaries including animation focused on women and children.

Yousafzai, who survived an assassination attempt by Taliban will “draw on her ability to inspire people around the world”, Apple said on Monday.

“I believe in the power of stories to bring families together, forge friendships, build movements, and inspire children to dream,” the 23-year-old activist said.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to support women, young people, writers, and artists in reflecting the world as they see it.”

Yousafzai, originally from Northwestern Pakistan began campaigning for girls’ education at age 10, which at the time was among the things banned by the Taliban for girls and women.

In 2015, a 15-year-old Yousafzai who was riding in a school bus was struck by a bullet in her left eye which went through her neck and lodged in her shoulder.

She survived the attack months after treatment home and abroad and gained global recognition, later co-writing a bestselling memoir titled “I am Malala” which gained bigger traction internationally.

In an interview with Reuters, Malala said “I hope that through this partnership, I will be able to bring new voices to this platform, to this stage.

I hope that through me, more young people and girls will watch these shows, get inspired.”
