Nigeria’s Afrobeats star, Burna Boy has gotten a second shot at adding Grammy Awards to his accomplishments, following his nomination for the 2021 Grammys. Burna Boy’s nomination was for the Best Global Music Album for “Twice as Tall” alongside four other musicians including US band Antibalas, and Malian band Tinariwen. The “Way too Big” singer bagged his first nomination in 2019 for his “African Giant” album in the same category but lost to Beninese-American singer-songwriter, Angélique Kidjo. According to the Grammys website artists to perform include Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Burna Boy, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Post Malone, among others.

In a 2020 GQ interview, the Afrobeats artist said “Unlike a lot of other people, I’ve had to go through never-ending steps to get here, whereas other people have taken the elevator up.”

The Awards is scheduled to air on Sunday March 14, 2021 and hosted by South African Comedian, Trevor Noah.
