Popular Nigerian singer, Olanrewaju Fasasi, popularly known for his stage name as Sound Sultan, is dead. The 44 years passed on early this morning of throat cancer as revealed in a statement by Dr. Kayode Fasasi in a statement on behalf of the Fasasi family.
Dr. Kayode's statement reads: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our multitalented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan.
“He passed away at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.
“He is survived by his wife, three children, and his siblings. We, his family, will appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with this tragic loss.”
Recall in May, the news went round the media that the late singer was diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment in the United State.
This earned the singer prayers of quick recovery for the singer by his fans and well-wishers. The singer reacted to the prayers with gratitude on his Instagram handle.
