Former members of defunct Plantashun Boiz, Chibuzor Oji (Faze), Innocent Idibia (2face/ 2baba) and Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo (Blackface), reunited after years of breakup to perform one of their hit songs on Saturday in honour of late music star, Sound Sultan, at the Terra Kulture, Lagos.
Plantashun Boiz split was one of the biggest in the music industry back then as the individual members of the group signed solo deals with record labels. 2face signed for Kennis Music, Faze signed for Westsyde Music, while Blackface championed a family of Ghetto kids with his brand of Ragga music.
After their split, Blackface repeatedly accused 2baba of stealing his song African Queen and also of being gay, alleging that 2face engaged in same-sex intercourse as a sacrifice for his success.
However, after years of animosity, both of them have reconciled, burying the hatchet. Aside from the trio, other artists also paid tribute to the music star at the event titled ‘A Night of Tribute’.
