Emmy-winning American Comedic actress, Betty White, popularly known for her roles on television sitcoms "The Golden Girls" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" died on Friday weeks from her 100th birthday.
White's death was confirmed by her longtime agent, Jeff Witjas, saying "Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever."
The seasoned actress had the longest-running career for any woman in TV, starring in multiple shows over eight decades, including "The Betty White Show", "Life with Elizabeth", "Date with the Angels", "The Love Boat", "Mama's Family", "The Golden Palace", "Ladies Man", "That '70s Show", "Higglytown Heroes", "Boston Legal", "The Bold and the Beautiful", "Pound Puppies", "Saturday Night Live", and "Hot in Cleveland" among other films.
Prior to TV she made appearances on radio shows in the like "Blondie," "The Great Gildersleeve," and "This is Your FBI", before she began working on TV in 1949.
U.S President, Joe Biden paid tribute to the actress, saying "That's a shame. She was a lovely lady."
"99 years old - as my mother would say, God love her!"
Tributes also poured in from friends and colleagues including Ryan Reynolds, Sandra Bullock, and Reese Witherspoon.
"She was great at defying expectation. She managed to grow very old and somehow, not old enough. We’ll miss you, Betty," Reynolds said on Twitter.
