The legacy of late Chadwich Boseman continues to live on and expand far beyond his time on this earth, as the "Black Panther" star actor just won an Emmy Award posthumously. His wife before his untimely death Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted the Creative Arts Emmy Award on his behalf. According to Deadline, Ledward said during the acceptance speech, "When I learned Chad was nominated, I started thinking of everything that was going on in the world and our world and being so in awe of his commitment and dedication and what a beautiful moment that one of the last things he would work on was something so important to him and to the world but also something new.
You can’t understand your purpose unless you ask what if? What if the universe is conspiring in my favor? What if it’s me? Chad would be so honored, and I am honored on his behalf."
The world still mourns the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman, which partially includes the work that lied ahead in his tenure for Marvel movies like the Black Panther franchise. Boseman’s brief but luminary career has seen some prestigious awards posthumously nominate him for major praise, throughout various major voting bodies.
Using Boseman’s official legacy Instagram account, the announcement was made that the actor had won Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance at this year’s Creative Arts Emmys. The award recognized his work on the Disney+ series What If…?, as Chadwick Boseman had recorded T’Challa’s lines for the first season’s storyline before passing in August of 2020. In the first season of the animated series “What If...?” which re-imagines the journeys of key Marvel superheroes, Boseman reprises his beloved role as T’Challa for an episode titled “What if … T’Challa became a Star-Lord.” (Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord, is portrayed by Chris Pratt in the live-action “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies.)
Boseman died at age 43 in August 2020 after a private, four-year battle with colon cancer.
