Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has been arrested by the Ogun State command of the Nigeria Police, after exceeding the 72 hours ultimatum issued to the controversial singer to report himself to the nearest police station or face being arrested. Reacting to Portable’s arrest on Friday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed that the controversial singer had been arrested and was cooling off his feet at the State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, where he would remain till Monday and then charged to court.
Recall on 28th March 2023, two videos came into circulation on social media, where the musician was seen abusing and daring some police officers at his bar located in the Sango Ota area of Ogun State.
Following the misconduct from the Zazu crooner, the Force Headquarters in Abuja through its spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa, revealed that the singer's action was unruly and punishable under the law. Hence there was a press statement by the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oyeyemi, requesting the entertainer to turn himself in at any police station in the state within 72 hours or face police arrest after the expiration of the ultimatum.
Oyeyemi explained that the police moved to arrest Portable after five invites were sent to him and another through his father, but he never honored any of the summons.
