Popular Nigerian dancehall star Burna Boy has finally come out to clear the air on his alleged involvement in the assault and robbery attack on Mr 2kay at the Eko Hotel and Suites. The dancehall artiste who has since been declared wanted by the Nigerian Police, Lagos State Command after suspects arrested in connection with the attack implicated him, claimed that all the reports being circulated about his involvement are false.

Burna Boy who took to his verified Twitter handle @burnaboy to make his position known tweeted;

‘I’ve tried to remain silent because as you all know, plenty talk no dey full basket but Today we go use bucket pack am. Lies and politics have surrounded my name this past few weeks but today you will hear THE TRUTH & I will start from the truth behind the SHOW “Postponement.”

He further added that ‘I will do a full Instagram live video so my fans can understand the whole thing & Clear it all once and for All’.

Instead of releasing the truth as promised, Burna Boy is rather promoting his new hit single "sekkle down ft Jhus'.

Recall that Nigerian singer, Abinye David Jumbo, popularly known as Mr 2Kay was reportedly robbed at gunpoint in his hotel room on Sunday, October 22, 2017. The incident happened at 11pm after the “Buckwyld N Breathless” concert at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, where he also performed.

Days after the incident, the Lagos State Police Command apprehended some suspects including Balogun Ademola, Obina Igwe, Tunmise Omotore and Joel Kantiok, who claimed to be Burna Boy’s road manager. They claimed that they carried out the operations on the orders of Burna Boy, a development that forced the Police to declare him wanted.

He has since failed to honour Police Invitation.
