Coachella, the two-weekend Californian music festival that traditionally kicks off the summer’s festival season, has announced the line up for its 2018 edition. The festival holds yearly in California and it features performances from some of the world’s biggest artistes. The 2018 Coachella festival will hold from Friday, April 13 to Sunday, April 22. Beyonce will headline on 14 and 21 April, in her first live show since giving birth to her twins Rumi and Sir.

Ayo ‘Wizkid’ Balogun and Jidenna Mobisson have been included among the lineup of performers for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The Star Boy crooner is scheduled to perform 14 and 21, April while Jidenna 15 and 22 April.

 

Some of the other artistes performing at the festival include Tyler the Creator, David Byrne, Post Malone, Fleet Foxes, Black Madonna, Vincent Staples, Jean Michel, Benjamin Clementine, Black Coffee, Daniel Caesar, Kali Uchis, Migos, French Montana, Cardi B, and Miguel.

 

Wizkid had a successful 2017 with respect to taking Nigerian music internationally. He ended the year winning a number of international awards.

 

The Nigerian singer’s biggest hit of 2017 ‘Come Closer’ was recently included among BET’s top 17 music videos of last year.

 

‘Come Closer’ which features Canadian rapper Drake came in at number eight on the list.

 

It was the lead single off his ‘Sounds From The Other Side’ EP project.

 

Coachella, which began in 1999, has become one of the most successful US music festivals. Beloved by fashionistas and celebrities, it now attracts 250,000 people across its two weekends in the Indio valley near Palm Springs.
