Social media users took to Twitter in droves to question whether or not Sylvester Stallone was really dead after an online hoax resurfaced 18 months after it first did the rounds. Rumours flooded the internet Monday after a message appeared on Facebook suggesting Stallone, 71, had been found dead at his Los Angeles home.
The claim stated the actor had passed away after battling prostate cancer. The original rumour first started in September 2016 and seemingly came from CNN. The Rocky star has denied the “stupid” rumours. His brother Frank also took to twitter to slam the claims, calling them “sick and cruel.”
It all started with, Sylvester Stallone was last active on Instagram on Sunday, with him sharing a snap of the “Creed 2” poster. The picture also shows the Rambo star’ face, which triggered huge reactions from people on the social media. However, people were also quick to spot the link coming from a website notorious for sharing celebrity death hoaxes.
The site had previously claimed other celebrities, including Vin Diesel, Jaden Smith, and Angelina Jolie had passed away. People still believing that Sylvester Stallone is dead from the last hoax, reacted sympathetically, and few were left dazed, continuously trying to find answers.
