Fashion Designer Karl Lagerfeld Dies At 85

Legendary haute-couture designer and creative director of French Luxury Fashion House Chanel, Karl Otto Lagerfeld has died at aged 85 today, at a hospital in Neiilly-sur-Seine outside Paris.

 

Lagerfeld, who is responsible for some iconic outfits on fashion week runways, is also known for his white hair, crisp high collar and dark sunglasses.

Lagerfeld who owns his eponymous fashion label was also associated with italian fur and leather goods fashion house, Fendi.

The creative director and photographer was born in Harmburg, Germany on 10th September, 1933. He made his debut as an apprentice with designer Pierre Balmain and later moved to Patou, Chloe and Fendi.

However, his creative genius was much noticed when he joined Chanel in 1983 and rebranded the label to attract younger clients.

since his passing celebrity and fashion designer friends including Victoria Beckham and Donatella Versace have taken to social media to pay tribute to the fashion icon.
