President of United States Donald Trump has sneered at 2020 Oscar organizers for awarding best picture to Parasite, a South Korean film, amidst tension between the US and the "Korean Nations”.

Trump while addressing supporters in Colorado stated that the US has enough issues with South Korea. "How bad were the Academy Awards this year, did you see? And the winner is a movie from South Korea. What the hell was that all about? We’ve got enough problems with South Korea, with trade. And after all that, they give the best movie of the year?”. The President stated that he prefers movies such as “Gone With the Wind” (a reference to the 1939 film set during the US Civil War, which at the time set a record for Oscar wins but has been criticised for its racist stereotypes and nostalgia for slavery.) and “Sunset Boulevard” to a Korean-language movie.

He further dismisses Brad Pitt, who during his Oscar speech said his 45 seconds slot was more than John Bolton received at the US president's impeachment trial. "I was never a big fan of his, He got up, said a little wise-guy statement. Little wise guy, he's a little wise guy." - Trump.

Pitt had joked during his acceptance speech about how the Senate voted against allowing witnesses during the trial, which had wrapped up the prior week. "They told me I only had 45 seconds up here, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week," Pitt said. "I'm thinking maybe Quentin (Tarantino) does a movie about it and in the end, the adults do the right thing."
