Recently, some celebrities resorted to a random act of kindness by assisting the poor across various cities. The targets include artisan, hawkers, traders, old women, disabled and sick people among others. During such public charity efforts, the financial gifts are videoed and posted online. Few days ago, Willams Uchemba announced on the social media his decision to join the movement. Meanwhile, the move has been heavily criticized by many who feel that such open shows are intended to feed their egos not necessarily the poor.
For instance, one Steven wrote "if you want to feed the homeless, then feed the homeless. But the moment you post it on social media, you are also feeding your ego."
Stephen was reacting to a picture posted by Uchemba. He wrote that he just took one hawker away from the street and was about to establish a shop for him in order to get him out of the street. He thereafter challenged others to take up the #Give Challenge.
Reacting to Stephen's comment, Paul Okoye popularly known as Rudeboy wrote
"I agree, but same time I do not agree with this. Sometimes you put it up out there to encourage others, but at the end, it's between you and God. Pls it's your choice, whichever way you want to touch people's life pls do. Especially this time of the year that person who's hungry and suffering no send your choice. Pls help in silence, social media, anyway you want to go about it, its your choice, help is help..."
