Popular Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has said he sees divorce as a positive outcome in situations where a marriage has become unbearable for one or both partners. Speaking on a recent episode of The Moraya Show, Bovi explained that he often celebrates divorces because they can signify freedom from an unhealthy relationship.
According to the comedian, the dissolution of a marriage may offer relief to individuals who have been struggling within the union.
“I celebrate when people get divorced because I feel it means one or both people were not breathing well in the marriage. I will not suffer anybody neither will I want anybody to suffer me,” he said.
Bovi stressed that while he supports divorce in certain circumstances, his position stems from a belief that ending a toxic marriage is preferable to remaining in one.
Reflecting on his own experience, the comedian acknowledged that marriage comes with challenges despite his long-standing union.
“That is not to say my marriage has been easy for 17 years. It has not. I got married at 29. I have been providing for 17 years nonstop,” he added.
