Following the re-emergence of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Friday in its eastern city of Beni, it has recorded a second death of the deadly virus days after the first case, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The re-emergence came after the country was on Sunday supposed to mark the end of the outbreak since the last case which was seven weeks ago.
The outbreak which was the second-deadliest killed over 2,200 people since it began in August 2018.
According to the deputy incident manager, WHO Ebola response, Boubacar Diallo the second case was an 11-month-old girl who was treated in the same health centre as the first case.
However, WHO has identified 215 people who came in contact with the first case including 53 health workers.
Diallo added that all but one health worker has been vaccinated in order to contain the spread of the virus.
