President Buhari Travels For ECOWAS Summit In Ghana

President Muhammadu Buhari departed Abuja on Saturday to participate in an Extraordinary Summit of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government scheduled to hold in Accra, Ghana at the Presidential Palace also known as Jubilee House. This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina in a statement titled, ‘President Buhari To Attend ECOWAS Extraordinary Summit in Accra’.


According to the statement, President Buhari and other ECOWAS Heads of State are expected to discuss the political situation in Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, and other parts of the sub-region.

The President would be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Onyeama; National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (Rtd) and the Director General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Abubakar.

The President is expected to return to Abuja today, at the end of the Summit.
