Andrew Tate Arrested Over Human Trafficking Case

Controversial online influencer and self-described misogynist Andrew Tate has been detained in Romania on charges of human trafficking, rape and forming an organized crime group. According to authorities, the former kickboxer and reality TV star, who has been banned from a number of social media platforms for misogynistic comments and hate speech, was arrested alongside his brother and two other suspects. They would be detained for 24 hours, prosecutors from the anti-organized crime unit said in a statement after raiding their properties in Bucharest.

Three Killed As Explosions Rock Russian Airbases

Explosions took place to two Russian airbases on Monday just hours before Ukrainian officials accused Russia of launching a “massive missile attack”. During the attack three people were reportedly killed and six injured after a fuel tanker exploded at a Russian airfield near the city of Ryazan, southeast of Moscow. Another blast allegedly occurred in Russia’s Saratov region along the Volga river, far from the frontlines. The Russian defence minister confirmed the attacks, blaming them on Ukraine and saying two warplanes were damaged. For Kyiv the strike represented an unprecendented operation deep inside Russia to disrupt the Kremlin strategy of provoking a humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine on the verge of winter.

A former Brazilian president, Luiz Lula da Silva defeated the incumbent president, Jair Bolsonaro in an election held where Mr Lula received 50.8 percent of total votes while Mr Bolsonaro received 49.2 percent. Mr Lula was first elected as Brazilian president in 2002, then re-elected in 2006 and was sentenced to jail in 2018 for corruption charges but later released in 2019 on technical grounds.

Former Pope Benedict Is “Very Sick” – Pope Francis Says

Former pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, 95, who in 2013 became the first pontiff in 600 years to step down, is “very sick”, his successor Pope Francis said on Wednesday, asking the church to pray for him. “I would like to ask all of you to pray a special prayer for Pope Emeritus Benedict,” Francis said at the end of his general audience, in St Peter’s Square. “Let us remember him. He is very sick, asking the Lord to console and sustain him in this witness of love for the Church, until the end,” Francis added.

NATO, US Investigate Claims Of Russian Missiles Hitting Poland

G20 leaders have held an emergency meeting following an explosion in Poland which Ukraine is blaming on Russian missiles. US President Joe Biden says it’s unlikely that Moscow is responsible for the blast but he has promised to support an investigation. Two farmers were killed in the explosion in a village near the Ukrainian border. Two missiles are believed to have hit farmland around ten kilometres from the Ukrainian border. Polish President Andrzej Duda said “All day today Russia was attacking Ukraine with rockets but we do not have any conclusive evidence at the moment as to who launched this missiles.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Delivers Maiden Speech

The newly emerged UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak made his first public speech after victory, he stated that the country is facing a "profound economic crisis" and noted that the mistakes were made by his predecessor Liz Truss. Sunak called for the need for trust in his government.“This government will have integrity, professionalism, and accountability at every level. Trust is earned and I will earn yours,” he said.“I fully appreciate how hard things are,” Mr. Sunak said.
