Britain is to ban the sale of all new petrol and diesel cars from 2040 in an attempt to reduce air pollution and the rising levels of nitrogen oxide which pose a major risk to public health. The move could herald the end of over a century of reliance on the internal combustion engine, across the globe.

A drone carrying a grenade infiltrated an ammunition dump in Ukraine, setting off an explosion that caused an astounding billion dollars worth of damage. The incident points to the growing use of drones in wartime, particularly off the shelf civilian products harnessed to conduct sabotage and other attacks.

A Nigerian man Marvyn Iheanacho has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 18 years, after he was found guilty and sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court by Judge Mark Dennis QC. He battered a five-year-old to death in a park for losing a trainer. The 39 years old flew into a rage and subjected his girlfriend's son, Alex Malcolm, to a brutal attack in a Mountsfield Park in Catford, south-east London.

Pope Francis on Tuesday added additional criteria to possible sainthood. A fourth criteria was expanded to include “the free offering of one’s life” in an apostolic letter published by the Vatican. The Vatican announced Tuesday that the pope has issued a new law outlining a new route: people who lived a good Catholic life and who freely accepted a certain and premature death for the good of others.

The United Kingdom (UK) Government has disclosed that efforts were underway to review the country's immigration policy as the country prepares to leave the European Union in March 2019. UK Immigration Minister, Brandon Lewis who made this known in an interview with BBC Radio 4 stated that free movement between the UK and Europe will end as soon as Brexit was activated.
