Just few hours after his accession as British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has on 24th July 2019 announced the sack of foreign minister Jeremy Hunt. This is believed to be part of Johnson's plans to form his new cabinet.

Boris Johnson who took over as Britain’s prime minister has promised to pull his country out of the European Union on October 31, 2019, by any means necessary.

Recall that Hunt, who had been Johnson’s rival for the top job, tweeted that he was “kindly” offered another role but turned it down to become one of more than a dozen cabinet ministers heading out the door, some of them voluntarily.

In a similar development, the new PM has named SajidJavid as finance minister in his first cabinet appointment. Javid a former banker was a contender for the premiership position but endorsed Johnson when he failed to get enough support from Conservatives MPs.
