Russia's President Vladimir Putin has on Tuesday said the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Moscow's Gamaleya Institute has been registered for use, "This morning, for the first time in the world, a vaccine against the new coronavirus was registered," Putin said in a televised conference. "One of my daughters had this vaccine. I think in this sense she took part in the experiment," he added saying his daughter has been inoculated and is doing well.

"After the second shot, she had a slight fever again, and then everything was fine. She is feeling well and has a high antibody count," Putin said.

"I would like to repeat that it has passed all the necessary tests,'' Putin said. "The most important thing is to ensure full safety of using the vaccine and its efficiency.''

The Russian health authorities said health workers, teachers, and others at risk would be first to receive the vaccine.

Vigil360 Reports that Russia concluded its human trial of the COVID-19 vaccine earlier and applied for registration with the hopes of commencing production in August.
