The United States has warned the Russian Federation that it would respond in appropriate proportion when it unleashes its nuclear arsenal on Ukraine. The US National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan made this statement yesterday while speaking to NBC. The NSA boss disclosed that the Government of the United States has informed Moscow of what he described as “catastrophic consequences” that it may likely face in the event of unleashing nuclear head. Vladimir Putin had on Wednesday made a nuclear threat following the unabated war between Russia and Ukraine that started in February this year.

Sullivan revealed that “if Russia crosses this line, there will be catastrophic consequences for Russia. The United States will respond decisively.”

Though, the NSA boss did not describe how the united State intend to respond to Russia but said the state has privately informed Russia details of what it meant when it said so.

According to him, the United States has been liaising with Russia since the beginning of the war to exercise some caution, this includes since the last few days to discuss issues concerning Ukraine versus Putin's action on the security of the country.

This comes in the heal of where US President Joe Biden during the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, held in New York last week where accused Putin of making an open threat against Europe as against the Nuclear non-proliferation responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Russia was at the same time making a referendum against the four territories his forces seized from Ukraine during the invasion in February.

Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, and his allies have called Putin's acts a scam targeted to escalate the war after the Russian forces have suffered defeat.
