President Buhari Attends King Charles Coronation Ceremony

President Muhammadu Buhari joined other world leaders for the coronation ceremony of King Charles III which was held on Saturday in the United Kingdom. King Charles ascended the throne on September 8, 2022, after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II who reigned for 70 years, the longest-serving British monarch.


President Buhari was accompanied by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; the National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (Rtd.); Director General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Abubakar, and other top Nigerian government officials.

King Charles, 74, and his wife, Camilla were crowned at London’s Westminster Abbey, followed by a massive parade that led to Buckingham Palace.

Prior to his coronation, King Charles had a meeting with 56 leaders from the Commonwealth of Nations, which he also heads.
