Buhari To Stay In UK For Additional Week Over Dental Procedure - Presidency

President Muhammad Buhari will spend another week in London before returning to Nigeria, the presidency said. The Presidential spokesperson Femi Adesina disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday which stated that the delay in Buhari's return is at the "behest" of his dentist.


Adesina said the president has an appointment with a specialist in five days' time following an already-commenced procedure.

The statement read, “President Muhammad Buhari will be in London, United Kingdom, for an additional week, at the behest of his dentist, who has started attending to him.”
 
“The specialist requires to see the president in another five days for a procedure already commenced.”

President Buhari travelled to the UK on May 3 to attend the coronation of King Charles III.

The coronation ceremony which took place on May 6 was attended by leaders and dignitaries from across the world.

Buhari Participated in the summit for presidents and heads of Government of commonwealth countries held on May 5.

He travelled to London for the coronation ceremony of King Charles III on May 6.

However, President Muhammad Buhari had severally travelled to London for medical treatment during the course of his administration.

The president is expected to hand over power to President-elect Bola Tinubu on May 29.

Tinubu’s victory at the presidential poll is being challenged at the tribunal by Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
