Nigeria, Vietnam Signs MoU On Defence, Others

Nigeria has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vietnam in the areas of defence collaboration, agriculture, telecommunications, amongst others, for the mutual benefit of both countries. The signing of the MoU took place on Monday during Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo’s bilateral meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart, Madam Vo Thi Xuan at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi, Vietnam.

5.6-magnitude Earthquake kills Dozens In Indonesia

A 5.6-magnitude earthquake that hit Indonesia’s West Java province on Monday at 1;21 p.m. have killed many people local officials revealed. Disaster management officials in Cianjur regency, near the epicenter of the quake, put out a statement announcing that dozens people had died and hundreds more were injured in the disaster, believed to be the deadliest this year in Indonesia, an earthquake-prone country. This marked a significant jump from figures released earlier in the day and reflected ongoing efforts to unearth victims from the rubble. The US Geological Survey said the magnitude 5.6. quake was at a depth of 10 kilometres.

Crackdown: UN To Convene Special Meeting Concerning Iran

The united Nation Human Right Council, UNHRC, has concluded plan today to hold a special meeting on 24th November 2022, concerning the fate of civilians in Iran, where the government is cracking down on them leading to the deaths of hundreds. The UN body expressed displeasure nothing that the action of the Iranian government is getting out of hand describing it as “the deteriorating human rights situation”, in Iran where world leaders will deliberate on the matter. Accordingly, the German and Iceland Government had on Friday submitted a request to the UN demanding that there is serious human right abuse going on in Iran that requires world attention.

Former Chinese President Jiang Zemin Has Died At 96

Former President of the Peoples’ Republic of China Jiang Zemin is dead.State media announced that Jiang died in Shanghai on Wednesday, 30 November, at the age of 96.The former Chinese president Jiang Zemin led his country out of isolation following the crushing of pro-democracy protests in Tiananmen Square and supported economic reforms that led to a decade of explosive growth.

North Korea Test-fires Ballistic Missile With Range To Reach US

North Korea has fired what neighbouring countries said appeared to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), a day after launching a smaller missile and warning of “fiercer military responses” to the United States (US) increasing its security presence in the region. Japanese Defence Minister Yasukazu Hamada, said the missile, which reached an altitude of 6,000km (3,730 miles), was capable of travelling as far as 15,000km (9,320 milles), giving it the range to reach the mainland of the US.

Israel: Incumbent PM Congratulates Netanyahu On Election Win

The incumbent Prime Minister (PM) of Israel, Yair Lapid has congratulated a former PM, Benjamin Netanyahu on his election win before the announcement of the election’s final results. In his congratulatory message, Lapid said, “The State of Israel comes before any political consideration. I wish Netanyahu success, for the sake of the people of Israel and the State of Israel”.
