The Saudi-led coalition battling Yemen's Houthi rebels says it has intercepted a missile over Riyadh.

The Houthis' Al Masirah TV reported that a Burkan H2 ballistic missile had targeted a meeting at the al-Yamama Palace in the Saudi capital.

Witnesses said they heard an explosion and posted pictures online showing a cloud of smoke in the air. There were no reports of any damage or casualties.

The coalition accused Iran of supplying the Houthis with the missile.

Saudi Arabia said Tuesday it intercepted a ballistic missile south of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, fired by a rebel group in neighbouring Yemen, possibly raising regional tensions amid Saudi claims that Iran is supplying the rebel factions with weapons, the Washington Post reports. The missile incursion marked the second time the rebels, known as the Houthis, had targeted Riyadh in the past two months. The Yemeni rebels say they targeted the Royal Palace in Riyadh.

Israeli war jets used air-to-surface missiles to strike two Hamas military posts in the northern Gaza Strip early Monday in retaliation for an earlier rocket strike from Gaza, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) said. The air strikes in the coastal enclave were in response to rocket attacks on Sunday night that were launched from Gaza into southern Israel, the IDF said via its official Twitter. “The IDF holds the Hamas terror organization accountable for this hostile act originating from Gaza,” the IDF tweeted.

Increasing demand for donkey skin by China has escalated the prices for the beast of burden, creating a big problem for Nigerian peasants and artisans who use it.

In China, the skins of donkeys are believed to have medicinal properties.

“Two years ago we were buying donkeys strong enough for our trade for between 15,000 and 18,000 naira (between $42 and $50)—but now to get a good donkey you will require 70,000 to 75,000,” said Nigerian sand digger, Abubakar Ya’u.

“The reason for this is the huge purchase of donkeys which are transported to the south where their meat is consumed and their skin exported,” he explained.

“To us, it is a calamity because as a sand digger if you lose your donkey, you can hardly raise the money to replace it.”

A yet-to-be identified suicide bomber on Sunday attacked a church packed with worshippers during Sunday service in Pakistan, leaving seven people dead and more than 20 others injured. According to statement issued by Police authorities, two of the attackers had targeted the Methodist Church in Quetta but only one of the bombers succeeded in detonating his vest in the church.
