Pope Francis Holds First Papal Mass In Abu Dhabi

The head of the Catholic Church and Sovereign of the Vatican City State, Pope Francis today held the first Papal Mass at the Zayed Sports City Stadium to mark the end of a three-day historic visit to the United Arab Emirate.

 

More than 130,000 worshippers Christians packed the stadium and its surroundings cheering and chanting 'Viva il Papa' and 'We love you', while he waved to them.

According to Reuters, He visited the Gulf country to promote inter-faith dialogue.

The crowd cheered him with chants of During the Pope's visit to the Arabian Peninsula, he held an inter-faith meeting with the Grand Imam of Egypt's Al-Azhar, Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, where they both signed a joint statement on 'human fraternity' in a bid to encourage world peace. while on his visit, he called on Arab leaders to end wars across the Middle East and protect the rights of humans.
