President Muhammadu Buhari traveled out of the country on Tuesday morning to embark on an eight-day diplomatic visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Buhari is expected to perform the lesser pilgrimage (Umrah), during his stay in the Kingdom of Saudi. This was revealed in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Monday evening.
The statement reads in part, “Buhari will travel to Saudi Arabia on an official visit from Tuesday, April 11 to 19 on his last trip to the Kingdom as President, during which he will perform Umrah, the lesser pilgrimage,”
In the statement themed, “President Buhari leaves for Saudi Arabia on an official visit,” Shehu said the President would be accompanied by his aides.
This is the sixth and last official visit of the President since assuming office in May 2015.
President Buhari has cumulatively made about 90 foreign trips, visiting over 40 countries, hence the president visits US, Uk, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and France more often.
Among other countries, Ethiopia, UAE, Ghana, Niger, were also visited by the President.
Buhari will vacate office as the President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria comes May 29.
