US Tracking Suspected Chinese Spy Balloon Hovering Over US Airspace

The United State of America is tracking a suspected Chinese high-altitude surveillance balloon moving over the continental US airspace. The Pentagon had advised President Joe Biden not to shoot down the balloon, which was potentially flying over sensitive sites, because of concerns of hurting people on the ground. According to US officials, the balloon flew over Alaska and Canada before appearing in the US state of Montana, which is home to a number of sensitive military missile sites. Meanwhile, the government prepared fighter jets in case the object had to be shot down. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken postponed his trip to China following the incident.

FBI Search President Joe Biden’s Home In Delaware

FBI agents on Wednesday conducted search of the Rehoboth, Delaware, beach home of President Joe Biden as part of an investigation into the previous discovery of classified documents at other locations connected to the president, his personal lawyer Bob Bauer said. Bauer in a statement said “Today, with the President’s full support and cooperation, the DOJ is conducting a planned search of his home in Rehoboth, Delware. Under DOJ’s standard procedures, in the interests of operational security and integrity, it sought to do this work without advance public notice, and we agreed to cooperate.”

System Outage Causes Disruption Of Flights In US

The US Federal Aviation Authority ordered a temporary halt to all domestic flights departures Wednesday, after a major system outage that disrupted air traffic across the country. Airlines and airports were left scrambling with news of the nationwide pause, as the White House said there was no immediate evidence of a cyberattack. The FAA had said flights would begin to take off again from 0900 ET (1400 GMT), though further delays are expected due to a backlog of flights.
Airports nationwide were affected, from Denver to Atlanta to New York City.

At least 10 persons have been killed by a dance club, in Monterey Park, Los Angeles, California in the United States on Saturday. The latest incident is been described to as one of the worst mass shooting in California after a 72-year-old gunman gunned down 5 men and 5 women in a Ball Room Dance floor while they were celebrating Chinese New Year. Ten others were injured. The area where the incident occurred is a predominantly Asian community on the outskirts of Los Angeles.

Detained US Basketball Star Brittney Griner Released In Prison Swap

The US and Russia have exchanged jailed US basketball star Brittney Griner for notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout, held in an American prison for 12 years. “She’s safe, she’s on a plane, she’s on her way home,” US President Joe Biden said at the White House Thursday morning alongside Griner’s wife, Cherelle. “After months of being unjustly detained in Russia, held under intolerable circumstances, Brittney will soon be back in the arms of her loved ones, and she should have been there all along.” Biden acknowledged that Griner’s release was occurring while Whelan remained imprisoned, saying that Whelan’s family “have to have such mixed emotions today.”

Musk Restores Trump’s Twitter Account

Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter has restored the Twitter account of a former president of the United States of America (USA), Donald Trump, following a poll conducted by Musk on Twitter asking the users of the platform, if Trump’s account should be restored. The poll had over 15 million votes with 51.8 percent in favor while 48.2 percent were against the restoration of Trump’s Twitter account.
