The United States President, Donald J. Trump has claimed that he has seen information that indicates the Wuhan Institute of Virology is behind the coronavirus outbreak.
Trump made the assertion on Thursday though he is yet to provide the detail of his claim.
While speaking from the white house, Trump was asked if he has seen any information that gives him a “high degree of confidence’ the virus originated from the Wuhan lab.
In his response, Trump said “yes, I have” stating that the “World Health Organisation should be ashamed of themselves”
However, when Trump was asked to provide detail of his claim, he said:
“I am not allowed to tell you.”
Meanwhile, as at Thursday, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States has exceeded one million with over fifty thousand deaths.
According to John Hopkins University, there are at least 1,012,000 cases of the virus across the US, with 58,356 deaths.
