A team of officials from the World Health Organisation (WHO) has left for China in a bid to conduct an investigation into the origin of the Coronavirus pandemic which emerged in Wuhan province of China in December 2019.
WHO Spokeswoman, Margarett Harris made the disclosure while briefing a United Nations (UN) panel, saying the team of two WHO experts who specialize in animal science and epidemiology are set to work with Chinese scientists to ascertain the extent and itinerary of the investigation.

"They are gone, they are in the air now, they are the advance party to work out the scope," Harris said.

She also noted that the agency would not run an independent panel in reviewing the ways and methods the pandemic has been handled globally. "From now on it is completely hands off" the spokeswoman said.
