COVID-19 Second Wave Strain: EU, America Ban UK Flights From Their Country

Argentina, Colombia, and Chile have joined the countries of the European Union like Germany and France who on Sunday put a ban on British flight from entering their country due to unveiling increase in the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement released by the interior ministry in Buenos Aires yesterday Evening, Argentina will “suspend arrivals and departures to and from Britain as a precaution from tomorrow,”.

Although a flight just a single one was allowed to land on Argentina’s soil this morning at the Buenos Aires International airport before the law takes effect today, it was learned that passengers and crew members will be isolated in quarantine for a period of time.

Germany, also disclosed yesterday that flight from Britain has been barn from landing on German soil for a period of 24hrs before the next line of action is being taken. France has also issued similar orders but with a longer duration.

In a similar manner, the Colombian government has also decided on Sunday too that it will no longer allow flights from the United Kingdom to land on its soil effective today, according to President Ivan Duque through his official Twitter handle.

The President also added that those who arrived from Britain in the last week be subjected to quarantine.

Meanwhile, the Chilean government said its own will take effect from tomorrow 22nd December that all flights from Britain be suspended.

Chile government added that foreigners who do not have a permanent residence permit in Chile and have been away in Britain for the past two weeks are also restricted from entering Chile, while those who poses permanent resident permits can come in but will be subjected to two weeks quarantine.

Expert has revealed that the new mutation takes up to 70% more contagious than the previous known pandemic, as revealed by the British authorities.

In an effort to arrest the spread, British authorities have announced a new lockdown from London and some parts of the south and Eastern England starting from Sunday yesterday 20th Dec 2020, and will be enforced throughout the yuletide period.
