President Joe Biden’s administration plans to reimpose travel restrictions on non-citizens who have recently been in Britain, Ireland, Brazil, South Africa, and much of Europe, a White House official disclosed. According to the official, the development is following the new COVID-19 variants established in the United States.
Last week the recently inaugurated president made mask-wearing compulsory as well as a quarantine for people flying into the US as measures to curb the spread of the pandemic.
“We’re in a national emergency. It’s time we treat it like one,” President Biden said.
However, former President Donald Trump had announced that the travel ban on Europe and Brazil would be lifted but Biden reversed that ban lift order due to the high spread of the pandemic.
