Russia Imposes Sanctions On Biden, Other Top US Officials

Russia announced that the president of the United States (US), Joe Biden has been banned from entering the country. The announcement was made on Tuesday by Russia’s foreign ministry which stated that the ban “is the consequence of the extremely Russophobic policy pursued by the current US administration”. Other US officials placed on the list include Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken; Defence Secretary, Lloyd Austin, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley.


Also on the list are the National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan; Central Intelligence Agency Director, William Burns; Deputy National Security Advisor, Daleep Singh and Deputy Treasury Secretary, Adewale Adeyemo.

Russia also banned US Export-Import Bank chief, Reta Jo Lewis; President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden and former secretary of state, Hillary Clinton.

The Kremlin announced that further sanctions would be placed on “Russophobic” US officials, lawmakers, media personalities, military officials, and others.

The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau was also banned from entering Russia.
