Lebanon's Prime Minister, Saad Hariri has returned to Beirut, the Country's capital two weeks after he announced his resignation and remained in Saud Arabia. Hariri's decision to return back to the country came after a brief visit to France where he held talks with French President, Emmanuel Macron. At the International Airport, Hariri was received by some supporters.

After landing at Beirut airport, he read a prayer at the grave of his father, Rafik al-Hariri, who was assassinated in 2005. He caused political crisis in Lebanon after he announced his resignation and decided to remain in Saudi Arabia. He claimed that his decision to resign was because he feared his life was in danger.

He expressed apprehension that the fate that befell his father may befall him if he remains in power. Hariri also accused Iran of sowing "discord, devastation and destruction" in the region and alleged that the Hezbollah group was destabilizing the nation.

Lebanese President, Michel Aoun and his party rejected his resignation and accused Saudi Arabia of detaining Hariri. Saudi Arabia denied the allegation and insisted that Hariri was in the country in his own volition and was free to leave anytime. Hariri later confirmed that he was not in detention.
